The red-and-black stripes of Milan are among the most admired shirts in world football. At TOFFS we recreate classic AC Milan kits from the club’s early decades through to the 1980s. Every retro AC Milan shirt is handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

An English beginning

The club was founded in December 1899 as Milan Foot-Ball and Cricket Club, by Englishmen Herbert Kilpin and Alfred Edwards. Kilpin chose the colours himself: red for the devils’ fire, and black for the fear the team would strike into opponents. That is why the club is still known as the Rossoneri, and as the Devils. Our AC Milan 1930s-40s Retro Football Shirt carries those stripes in their early form.

Wembley, 1963

Milan became the first Italian club to lift the European Cup, beating Benfica at Wembley in 1963. The AC Milan 1963 European Cup Final Retro Football Shirt recalls that night. The club’s white away shirt became a lucky charm in European finals, and fans still look for it on the big occasions.

The star and the golden era

In 1979 Milan won their tenth league title, earning the stella, the gold star worn above the crest. Our AC Milan 1980s Retro Football Shirt and the 1977 Coppa Italia shirt come from either side of that milestone. European Cups followed in 1989, 1990 and 1994.

For every Milan fan
