The Whites of Aarhus

Aarhus Gymnastikforening was founded in 1880, and its football section followed in 1902. In 1921 the team first ran out in white shirts and navy shorts, the colours the club still wears. That is where the nickname De Hvide, the Whites, comes from.

Champions of Denmark

AGF won the Danish title three seasons in a row in the mid-1950s, and again in 1960. That side reached the quarter-finals of the 1960–61 European Cup, where they lost to Benfica, the eventual winners.
