Aldershot is an Army town, and its football has always had a military flavour. At TOFFS we recreate retro Aldershot shirts inspired by the Shots’ long history at the Recreation Ground. Our classic Aldershot kits are handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

The first Shots

The original club was founded in 1926 as Aldershot Town and joined the Football League in 1932. The Shots nickname comes from the last syllable of the town’s name and its military links. In 1987 they beat Wolves 3–0 on aggregate in the first Fourth Division play-off final. Our Aldershot Town 1970s Retro Football Shirt looks back to the club’s 1970s years at the Recreation Ground.

1992 and a fresh start

Debts of more than £1 million forced the original club to resign from the Football League in March 1992. Supporters formed a new club, Aldershot Town, which now plays at the Recreation Ground. The new Shots won the Conference in 2008 with a record 101 points, bringing League football back to the town after 16 years.

Red and blue

Aldershot Town have always played in predominantly red kits with blue features, including stripes and quarters, reflecting the town’s association with the British Army. Explore more classic clubs in our retro League Two shirts, or add a name and number to make yours unique.
