Red and blue are the colours of Ards, the County Down club founded in Newtownards in 1900. Our retro Ards shirts bring back the classic Ards kits of the past, handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

Champions and European nights

Ards lifted the Irish Cup in 1927, 1952 and 1969, and have won it four times in all. The club’s finest season came in 1957–58, when Ards were crowned Irish League champions. That title earned a place in the European Cup, where they were drawn against the great Stade de Reims side.

Castlereagh Park and beyond

For decades Ards played at Castlereagh Park in Newtownards. Financial difficulties led the club to sell the ground in the late 1990s, and Ards have since shared grounds elsewhere, including Clandeboye Park, home of their neighbours Bangor.

The Ards 1960s shirt

Our Ards 1960s shirt is a long sleeve design with a round neck, made in Great Britain from organic cotton in a heritage engineered stripe. Explore more clubs from the province in our retro Northern Irish club shirts collection, or add a name and number to make yours unique.
