Black and blue stripes have been Atalanta’s colours for more than a century. Our retro Atalanta shirts recreate the classic Atalanta kits of the club’s first great era in the early 1960s. Each is handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton.

La Dea of Bergamo

Atalanta were founded in Bergamo on 17 October 1907 by students of the Liceo Classico Paolo Sarpi. The club is named after Atalanta, the athlete of Greek myth, which is why fans call the team La Dea, the Goddess. In 1920 the club merged with Bergamasca, who wore blue and white. The shared white was dropped, leaving the black and blue stripes.

Coppa Italia, 1963

Atalanta won their first major trophy in 1963, beating Torino 3–1 in the Coppa Italia final. Angelo Domenghini scored a hat-trick. Our Atalanta 1963-1964 Retro Football Shirt recalls that side, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos. Sixty-one years later, Atalanta won the Europa League in 2024.
