Austria’s white shirts and black shorts have a long and distinguished place in European football. Our retro Austria shirts recreate classic Austria kits from the 1950s and the 1978 World Cup, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos. Each is handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton.

The Wunderteam

Austria played their first international in 1902, beating Hungary 5–0 in Vienna. In the early 1930s Hugo Meisl’s side, known as the Wunderteam, was one of the strongest in Europe. The tradition carried on after the war, and Austria finished third at the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland.

Our Austria 1950s Away Retro Football Shirt comes from that era.

Córdoba, 1978

At the 1978 World Cup in Argentina, Austria beat West Germany 3–2 in Córdoba, with Hans Krankl scoring twice. Austrian fans still celebrate it as one of the nation’s greatest football moments. Our Austria 1978 World Cup Retro Football Shirt recalls that tournament.
