Amber and black

Barnet trace their roots to Woodville FC in 1882, taking the Barnet FC name in 1888. The amber and black became the basis of the strip after a 1912 merger with Alston Works AFC, whose colours came from its workers at a dental manufacturer. The Bees nickname is thought to come from beehives near the club’s early ground.

Underhill and the Amateur Cup

Underhill was home from 1907 until 2013. In 1945–46 Barnet won the FA Amateur Cup, beating Bishop Auckland 3–2 in the final. Our Barnet 1950s Retro Football Shirt looks back to the amateur years that followed.

Into the League
