Red-and-white stripes have been Brentford’s look for a century. At TOFFS we recreate retro Brentford shirts from the Griffin Park years, with simple collars and with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos. Our classic Brentford kits are handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton, for the look and feel of the originals.

Buck up, Bees

Brentford were founded in 1889 and moved to Griffin Park in 1904, their home for the next 116 years. The nickname dates from the 1894–95 season, when students from Borough Road College cheered on player Joseph Gettins with their college chant, “Buck up Bs”. It was misheard as “Buck up Bees”, and the name stuck.

Stripes and the First Division

Red-and-white stripes became Brentford’s main home colours from the 1925–26 season. A decade later the club won the Second Division title in 1935, then finished fifth in the First Division in 1935–36. Our Brentford 1940s Retro Football Shirt recalls the years that followed, before relegation from the top flight in 1947.

Seventies stripes and beyond

Our Brentford 1971-1973 retro Football Shirt brings back the early 1970s, and there’s a Brentford 1971-73 Kids Retro Football Shirt for younger Bees. In 2021 the club returned to the top flight for the first time in 74 years. Complete the look with the Brentford Red Harrington Jacket or a track top, hoodie or polo from our casualwear range.
