The California Surf brought NASL soccer to Anaheim for four seasons at the end of the 1970s. Our retro California Surf shirts and classic California Surf kits recall a club that played in light blue, dark blue and lime green, a palette that could only have come from Southern California.

From St. Louis to Anaheim

The franchise began life in 1967 as the St. Louis Stars. After the 1977 season it moved west, with the NASL approving the switch in October 1977. The name Surf was picked from around 350 suggestions from the public, and the team played outdoors at Anaheim Stadium.

A World Cup winner in Anaheim

Brazil’s 1970 World Cup-winning captain Carlos Alberto played for the Surf, one of several players from the club later inducted into halls of fame. Our California Surf 1970s Shirt captures the era, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos. The Surf ceased operations in September 1981.
