White shirts, black shorts and a name borrowed from a Mapuche chief: Colo-Colo are the most famous club in Chile. At TOFFS we make retro Colo-Colo shirts that capture the simple lines of the classic Colo-Colo kits. Each shirt is handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

Arellano’s club

Colo-Colo was founded on 19 April 1925 by David Arellano and a group of young players who had left CD Magallanes. The club took its name from Colo-Colo, a legendary Mapuche chieftain, which is why the team is known as El Cacique. Arellano also set the white shirt and black shorts that the club still wears.

The black band

In May 1927, on a tour of Europe, Arellano was injured in a match in Valladolid and died the following day. The club added a black band to its badge in his memory, as a sign of eternal mourning. Our Colo-Colo Retro Football Shirt keeps to the clean white design, while our shirts carry no club crests.

Champions of South America

It honours founder David Arellano, who died after being injured in a match in Valladolid during the club’s 1927 tour of Europe.

The white shirt and black shorts were chosen at the club’s founding in 1925 on the recommendation of David Arellano, and fans call the team Los Albos, the Whites.
