The Caribous of Colorado lasted only one NASL season, but their kit has never been forgotten. Our retro Colorado Caribous designs and nods to classic Colorado Caribous kits celebrate the most talked-about jersey in the history of American soccer.

The fringe

The Caribous played in 1978 at Mile High Stadium in Denver. Their brown and tan jerseys had a strip of leather fringe across the chest, a western touch few clubs would dare to copy. In 2009 readers of Uni Watch voted it the worst soccer uniform in history, which has only made it more loved.

One season in Denver

On the pitch it was a hard year. The Caribous finished with an 8–22 record and scored 34 goals, the fewest in the league. After the season the club was bought and moved to Atlanta, where it became the new Atlanta Chiefs.
