Crewe Alexandra have played in red since the late 1890s, and the club is as much a part of the town as its railway. At TOFFS we recreate retro Crewe Alexandra shirts inspired by the Alex’s early 1960s side. A royal name

The club was founded in 1877 and named after Princess Alexandra, who had married the future King Edward VII. Crewe reached the FA Cup semi-finals in 1888 and were founder members of the Football League Second Division in 1892. Gresty Road, close to the railway station, has been home for well over a century.

The Railwaymen

Gradi and beyond

Dario Gradi managed Crewe from 1983 to 2007, a spell of 24 years that made the club famous for developing young players. His side won the Second Division play-offs in 1997.
