Red-and-white stripes have been Exeter City’s colours for more than a century. At TOFFS we recreate retro Exeter City shirts from the St James Park years, from the 1950s to the 1970s. Our classic Exeter kits are handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

From green to red

Exeter City have played at St James Park since 1904. In their early years they wore green and white, but after poor results at the start of the 1910 season the club changed to red and white, and the colours have stayed. There are several theories behind the Grecians nickname. One links it to the parish of St Sidwells, whose residents were once known as Greeks or Grecians.

Rio, 1914

In the summer of 1914 Exeter toured Argentina and Brazil, playing eight matches. On 21 July they became the first side to play a Brazil national team, losing 2–0 at Laranjeiras in Rio de Janeiro. The tour brought five wins, one draw and two defeats.
