Green and white have been Hibernian’s colours since 1875, and Easter Road has been home since 1893. At TOFFS we recreate retro Hibs shirts from more than a century of the club’s history, from the champions of the early 1900s to the late 1970s. Our classic Hibernian kits are handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

Early champions

Hibernian were founded on 6 August 1875 by members of Edinburgh’s Irish community in the Cowgate. The club wore green and white hoops in the 1870s, then all green from 1879. Hibs won the Scottish Cup in 1902 and the league title a year later, the double celebrated by our Hibernian 1902-1903 Scottish Cup & League Champions Retro Football Shirt.

White sleeves and the Famous Five

White sleeves were added to the green shirt in 1938. Between 1948 and 1952 the forward line of Gordon Smith, Bobby Johnstone, Lawrie Reilly, Eddie Turnbull and Willie Ormond, the Famous Five, dominated Scottish football. In 1955–56 Hibs became the first British club to play in the European Cup, reaching the semi-finals. Our Hibernian 1957-1964 Home Retro Football Shirt follows on from those years.

Turnbull’s Hibs

Eddie Turnbull returned as manager and led Hibs to the 1972 Scottish Cup Final and the League Cup later that year. Our Hibernian 1972 Scottish Cup Final Retro Football Shirt and Hibernian 1973-1974 Retro Football Shirt come from that side.

Who were Hibs’ Famous Five?+

The forward line of Gordon Smith, Bobby Johnstone, Lawrie Reilly, Eddie Turnbull and Willie Ormond, who starred for Hibs between 1948 and 1952. Each scored more than 100 goals for the club.
