Asian champions

Israel played their first international as a new state in 1948, against the USA in New York. For many years the team played in Asia, and they hosted and won the Asian Cup in 1964. Our Israel 1960s Retro Football Shirt comes from that decade.

Mexico, 1970

Israel reached their only World Cup so far in 1970. They drew 1–1 with Sweden, with Mordechai Spiegler scoring, and held Italy to a goalless draw. The team later moved to European competition and became full UEFA members in 1994.
