The Imps of Sincil Bank

Lincoln City were founded in 1884 and moved to Sincil Bank in 1895, their home ever since. The Imps nickname comes from the legend of the Lincoln Imp, one of the city’s best-known stories.

Graham Taylor’s champions

In 1975–76 manager Graham Taylor led Lincoln to the Fourth Division title. Our Lincoln City 1975-1978 Retro Football Shirt comes from those years, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

Down and back again

In 1987 Lincoln became the first club to suffer automatic relegation from the Football League, but they bounced straight back as Conference champions in 1987–88. In 2016–17, as a non-League side, they beat Burnley to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals, the first non-League club to get that far since 1913–14.
