For a few summers in the late 1970s, the Minnesota Kicks were one of the best-supported clubs in North America. Our retro Minnesota Kicks shirts and classic Minnesota Kicks kits bring back the days of big crowds at Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington.

From Denver to Bloomington

The club began as the Denver Dynamos and moved to Minnesota for the 1976 season. The Kicks drew over 23,000 fans a game in each season from 1976 to 1979, and 49,576 watched a 1976 playoff against San Jose. That year they reached Soccer Bowl, losing 3–0 to Toronto Metros-Croatia in Seattle.

The tailgates at the Met

The Kicks are remembered as much for the car park as the pitch. Thousands of fans arrived early to tailgate at Metropolitan Stadium, and it became part of Twin Cities life in the late 1970s. Our Minnesota Kicks 1970s Shirt and Minnesota Kicks 1970s Away shirt recall that era, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.
