Garibaldi red

Forest were founded in 1865 at the Clinton Arms and chose “Garibaldi red” in honour of the Italian patriot. In 1886 the club gave a full red kit to Arsenal, which is why the London club wears red too. Since 1898 Forest have played at the City Ground, on the banks of the Trent.

Wembley, 1959

Champions of Europe

Under Brian Clough, Forest won the First Division in 1977–78, a year after promotion. They then won the European Cup twice, beating Malmö 1–0 in 1979 and Hamburg 1–0 in 1980.
