Partick Thistle have been part of Glasgow football since 1876, and at home in Maryhill at Firhill since 1909. At TOFFS we recreate retro Partick Thistle shirts from the 1960s and 1970s, including the season of the club’s most famous result. Blue, then red, yellow and black

Thistle mostly wore blue in their early decades. In 1936–37 they switched to the red, yellow and black for which they are best known, partly thanks to borrowing kits from a local rugby club. Hampden, 23 October 1971

When did Partick Thistle start wearing red, yellow and black?+

Thistle adopted red, yellow and black in 1936–37, partly after borrowing kits from a local rugby club. They had mostly worn blue before that.

What happened in the 1971 League Cup Final?+

On 23 October 1971 Partick Thistle beat Celtic 4–1 at Hampden, having led 4–0 at half-time.
