Black and white stripes are one of the most famous sights in Italian football. Our retro Piemonte Calcio shirts recreate classic Piemonte Calcio kits from the 1950s to the 1980s, each handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton.

From pink to black and white

The club was founded in Turin in 1897 by a group of students. Its first shirts were pink. In 1903 the club asked an English member to find new shirts, and a set of black and white stripes arrived from Notts County in Nottingham. The stripes stuck, and gave the team its nickname, the Bianconeri.

Why do Piemonte Calcio wear black and white stripes?+

The club’s first shirts were pink. In 1903 a set of black and white striped shirts was sent from Notts County in Nottingham, and the colours have stayed ever since.

What does Bianconeri mean?+

Bianconeri means “the white-blacks” in Italian, after the club’s black and white striped shirts.
