The Invincibles

Preston began as a cricket club in 1863 and formally established their football club in May 1880 at Deepdale, their home since 1875. It is football’s oldest ground in continuous use by a league club. In 1888–89 Preston won the first Football League title and the FA Cup without losing a match, and without conceding a goal in the Cup. No other team has gone a whole season unbeaten in both.

Tom Finney

Tom Finney joined Preston as a teenager in 1938, made his debut in 1946 and retired in 1960, scoring 187 league goals in 433 appearances.
