Queen of the South have played at Palmerston Park in Dumfries since the club was founded in 1919. At TOFFS we recreate retro Queen of the South shirts from the 1950s to the late 1970s. The Doonhamers

The club was founded in March 1919. People from Dumfries have long been called Doonhamers, and the name passed to the team, who are also known simply as Queens. Hughie Gallacher played for Queens before joining Airdrieonians in 1921, and Billy Houliston and Ivor Broadis are among the club’s Hall of Fame names.

Top of the league

The club’s best league finish came in 1933–34, when Queens finished fourth in the top division. In 1953–54 they went one better for a while, leading Scotland’s top division until New Year.
