The Rochester Lancers were one of the NASL’s longest-serving clubs, and champions in their very first season in the league. Our retro Rochester Lancers shirts and classic Rochester Lancers kits bring back the blue and gold of a team from upstate New York.

Champions in 1970

The Lancers began in the American Soccer League in 1967 and joined the NASL in 1970. They won the title that year over two legs against the Washington Darts, winning 3–0 at home and losing 3–1 away for a 4–3 aggregate. The small Brazilian striker Carlos Metidieri was named the league’s MVP in 1970 and again in 1971.

Holleder Stadium

Home games were played at Holleder Memorial Stadium. The Lancers stayed in the NASL until 1980, when the club folded after years of financial strain. Our Rochester Lancers 1976-77 Home Jersey comes from the later years, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.
