The Oaks

Known as Stejarii, the Oaks, Romania played their first Test against the United States at Colombes in June 1919. At the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris they took the bronze medal.

Beating France

Romania enjoyed some of their strongest years in the 1980s and 1990s. They beat France 15–0 in Bucharest in 1980, and in May 1990 won 12–6 in Auch, their first victory on French soil. They played at the first Rugby World Cup in 1987 and at most tournaments since. Our Romania 1990s Rugby Shirt recalls that era.
