Two clubs, one shirt

Sampdoria was formed in Genoa in 1946 through the merger of Sampierdarenese and Andrea Doria, and the name joins the two. The shirt brings together the colours of both clubs, and the band across the chest gives the team its nickname, the Blucerchiati.
