Claret and blue have been Scunthorpe United’s colours for most of the club’s history, and its nickname is rooted in the town’s steelworks. At TOFFS we recreate retro Scunthorpe shirts from the Old Show Ground years. Our classic Scunthorpe kits are handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

The Iron

Scunthorpe United were founded in 1899 and played at the Old Show Ground for almost 90 years. The Iron nickname reflects the town’s long association with the iron and steel industry. When the Football League expanded in 1950, Scunthorpe were accepted as members.

Champions in 1958

Under manager Ron Suart, Scunthorpe won the Third Division North in 1957–58 and were promoted to the Second Division. Our Scunthorpe United 1957-1959 Retro Football Shirt comes from that title-winning era, and the Scunthorpe United 1959-1963 Retro Football Shirt follows the club into the early 1960s.

Keegan, Clemence and Glanford Park

Two future England players spent their early careers at Scunthorpe. Goalkeeper Ray Clemence went on to Liverpool and Tottenham, and Kevin Keegan made 124 appearances before joining Liverpool for £35,000 in 1971. In 1988 Scunthorpe became the first English club of the modern era to move to a new, purpose-built stadium, at Glanford Park. Our Scunthorpe United Retro Football Shirt completes the range.
