Red has always been the main colour for Shelbourne, the Dublin club founded in Ringsend in 1895 and known as Shels or the Reds. Our retro Shelbourne shirts recreate classic Shelbourne kits, handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

Before the League of Ireland

Shelbourne were founded in 1895 by James Rowan and associates. Before the League of Ireland was formed in 1921, the club won the IFA Cup three times, in 1906, 1911 and 1920.

The 1960s

The early 1960s were a fine time to be a Shels supporter. The club beat Cork Hibernians 2–0 in the 1960 FAI Cup final, won a play-off for the league title in 1962, and beat Cork Hibernians 2–0 again to lift the FAI Cup in 1963. Tolka Park in Drumcondra has long been Shelbourne’s home.

The Shelbourne 1960s shirt

Our Shelbourne 1960s Retro Football Shirt is a long sleeve design made from 100% cotton, and there’s a Shelbourne 1960s Kids Retro Football Shirt as well. Explore more clubs in our retro Irish club shirts collection or our kids’ range.
