From the Vetch to the top flight

The club was founded in 1912 as Swansea Town and played at the Vetch Field for more than ninety years. It became Swansea City in 1969. In 1981 the Swans reached the top flight for the first time, and in 2011 they became the first Welsh club to play in the Premier League.

Wembley, 2013

In 2013 Swansea won the League Cup at Wembley, the club’s first major trophy. It was a proud day for the Jack Army, the name Swansea supporters have long carried.
