The Toronto Blizzard were Toronto’s NASL club of the early 1980s, and finalists in the league’s last two seasons. Our retro Toronto Blizzard shirts and classic Toronto Blizzard kits recall a team that played in red, white and blue.

From Metros to Blizzard

The franchise began in 1971 as the Toronto Metros and became Toronto Metros-Croatia in 1975. In 1979 it took the name Blizzard, and played at Exhibition Stadium until 1983 before returning to Varsity Stadium for 1984.

Two finals

The Blizzard reached Soccer Bowl in 1983, losing 2–0 to the Tulsa Roughnecks in front of nearly 60,000 at BC Place in Vancouver. A year later they were runners-up again, beaten by the Chicago Sting in the final championship series before the NASL closed. The Blizzard name lived on with a new Toronto club from 1986.
