Turkey’s red and white shirts carry the colours of the national flag. Our retro Turkey shirt recreates a classic Turkey kit from 1970. Like all our retro Turkey shirts, it is handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

The Crescent-Stars

Turkey played their first international in October 1923, drawing 2–2 with Romania at the Taksim Stadium in Istanbul. The team is known as the Ay-Yıldızlılar, the Crescent-Stars, after the symbols on the flag. They reached their first World Cup finals in Switzerland in 1954. Our Turkey 1970 Retro Football Shirt brings back a simple classic from a later era.

2002 and 2008

Turkey’s finest World Cup came in 2002, when they finished third. In the third-place match against co-hosts South Korea, Hakan Şükür scored after about 11 seconds, the fastest goal in World Cup history. Six years later Turkey reached the semi-finals of the European Championship, losing 3–2 to Germany.
