The Vancouver Whitecaps of the NASL brought a championship to British Columbia and some of the biggest crowds the city had seen. Our retro Vancouver Whitecaps shirts and classic Vancouver Whitecaps kits celebrate the original club of 1974 to 1984.

Two-tone blue

The Whitecaps began at Empire Stadium in 1974. In 1978 they introduced a new two-tone blue design by Vancouver graphic designer Dick Martin. Our Vancouver Whitecaps 1978 Home Jersey comes from that season, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

Soccer Bowl ’79

In 1979 the Whitecaps knocked out the New York Cosmos in a marathon conference final, then beat the Tampa Bay Rowdies 2–1 in Soccer Bowl at Giants Stadium. Trevor Whymark scored both goals. More than 100,000 fans are said to have packed Robson Square for the victory parade. Players to wear the shirt over the years included Alan Ball, Ruud Krol, Bruce Grobbelaar and Bobby Lenarduzzi.
