Wimbledon’s rise from amateur football to FA Cup winners is one of the great stories of the English game. At TOFFS we recreate retro Wimbledon shirts celebrating the Dons at Plough Lane and Wembley. Plough Lane and the Amateur Cup

The club was founded in 1889 as Wimbledon Old Central, moved to Plough Lane in 1912 and settled on royal blue in 1918. In 1963 Wimbledon beat Sutton United 4–2 in the FA Amateur Cup final at Wembley, with Eddie Reynolds heading all four goals. The Crazy Gang years

Three Southern League titles in a row earned election to the Football League in 1977. Nine years later Wimbledon reached the First Division. Blue and yellow, first used in 1975, became the colours most associated with the club.

Wembley, 1988

In the 1988 FA Cup final Wimbledon beat Liverpool 1–0. Lawrie Sanchez scored, and Dave Beasant became the first goalkeeper to save a penalty in an FA Cup final. Our 1988 FA Cup Final (Wimbledon) Retrotext T-Shirt - White marks the occasion.

After Plough Lane

Wimbledon left Plough Lane in 1991. In 2002 an independent commission approved a move to Milton Keynes, and supporters opposed to it formed a new club, AFC Wimbledon. Eddie Reynolds headed all four in the 4–2 win over Sutton United at Wembley, a feat no other player has matched there.

When did Wimbledon first wear blue and yellow?+

The club wore royal blue from 1918, and a blue and yellow combination was first used in 1975. It became the look most associated with the Dons.
