Green shirts and white shorts have been the Republic of Ireland’s colours for generations. Our retro Republic of Ireland shirts recreate classic Ireland kits from the 1940s to the 1980s, handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

Goodison Park, 1949

The team played its first match at the 1924 Olympics in Paris, beating Bulgaria 1–0 as the Irish Free State. In September 1949 Ireland beat England 2–0 at Goodison Park. It was England’s first home defeat by a side from outside the Home Nations. Our 1949 retro football shirt marks that era.

The 1960s and 1970s

The Republic Of Ireland 1966-1969 Retro Football Shirt and the Republic Of Ireland 1975 Retro Football Shirt bring back the simple green look of those decades.

Stuttgart and Italia 90

Under Jack Charlton, Ireland enjoyed their most successful era. At Euro 88 they beat England 1–0 in Stuttgart with a Ray Houghton header. Two years later, at their first World Cup, they reached the quarter-finals before losing 1–0 to hosts Italy in Rome. The Republic Of Ireland 1986-1987 Retro Football Shirt comes from the start of that journey.
