Scotland played in the very first international football match, and their dark blue shirt has been worn ever since. Our retro Scotland shirts recreate classic Scotland kits from 1872 to the 1990 World Cup, each handcrafted in the UK from 100% cotton, with no modern sponsor or manufacturer logos.

Where it all began

On 30 November 1872 Scotland met England at the West of Scotland Cricket Ground in Partick. The match finished 0–0, and all eleven Scottish players came from Queen’s Park. Their dark blue became Scotland’s colours. Our Scotland 1872 Retro Football Shirt recreates the look, and the Scotland 150th Anniversary Retro Football Shirt marks 150 years since that day.

Primrose and pink

Scotland have not always worn blue. On several occasions between 1881 and 1951 they played in the primrose and pink racing colours of Lord Rosebery, the former Prime Minister and honorary president of the Scottish FA. In 1900 Scotland beat England 4–1 in those colours, with R. S. McColl scoring a hat-trick. The Scotland 1900 Rosebery Retro Football Shirt brings them back.

Wembley 1967 and the World Cup years

In 1967 Scotland beat the world champions England 3–2 at Wembley, with Ronnie Simpson in goal. Our Scotland 1967 Ronnie Simpson Retro Football Shirt remembers him. In 1974 Scotland went home from the World Cup unbeaten, out on goal difference. In 1978 Archie Gemmill scored one of the tournament’s great goals in a 3–2 win over the Netherlands.
